Her chest was in the middle of the large and medium and her neck was in the medium size range. I ordered the large. It fits her nicely. I think I might have to tighten the straps up more, but was a little nervous that it was uncomfortable for her, but I was wrong, because she slept in it after our walk. I used both the front and back ring. The like the back ring best because she does like to nose through the leaves and the front ring stops her from exploring and turns her body back towards me which does stop a dog from pulling.
